Mother reunited with wandering toddler

Published: August 18, 2005

A toddler who wandered off from her home in Oakland County has been reunited with her mother.

The child’s mother returned home from work last night to find the gate open.

She says she had left her 14-year-old daughter in charge while she was at work.

The little girl’s father is a truck driver and is out of town.

The girl was found when she knocked on a stranger’s door at about 2:45 a.m. in Highland Township.

Police searched door-to-door looking for her parents.

They say the child couldn’t say her name. She was with a puppy.
