Almost two-thirds in poll had a memorable teacher

A poll on teachers finds that most people remember one who made a difference in their lives.
The Associated Press-America Online poll finds that almost two-thirds, 63 percent, say they remember a teacher who changed their lives.
For many people, that memorable teacher connected with them on a personal level far beyond the class subjects.
Diana Jackson, an account manager from San Antonio, says her memorable teacher “took the time to listen to a student and ask questions and she really cared.”
Responders suggest that the most memorable teachers may be good at making school fun, listening to students talk about their troubles, training them to trust their instincts or a combination of those qualities.
