Payless Manager Receives Citizen Hero Award

Victims of a Lubbock fire thought they lost everything, until they met Thomas Gonzales. Tuesday, he received the Raymond Davis Citizen Hero Award.
EMS responded to a fire in Central Lubbock on January 18th.
The victim escaped with minor burns but his shoes were destroyed in the fire so EMS went to Payless to buy shoes for the victim.

Gonzales is the store manager at Payless and gave EMS the shoes and socks at a huge discount.
University Medical Center presented Gonzales with the award Tuesday morning.
It’s named in memory of Lubbock Paramedic Raymond Davis who died in the line of duty, two years ago.
