Singer’s dog is found safe after appeal
Published: July 21, 2005
The singer Engelbert Humperdinck was reunited with his lost dog yesterday after fearing it had been kidnapped.
A local family had taken six-month-old Tarnie in after it escaped from Mr Humperdinck’s home in Great Glen, Leics, on Monday. It had been slightly injured when it was hit by a car.
After a farmer reported people trying to catch a dog fitting the German shepherd’s description, Mr Humperdinck, 69, said he feared it had been stolen, but he was delighted yesterday when the dog was returned following a public appeal. He said: “I am overjoyed that the dog was returned to us.”
