‘Miracle come true’ reunites son, family

Dean Hodgkiss of Jonesboro, Ark., had been praying for 43 years, and on Mother’s Day, her prayers were answered.
She had been searching for her adopted son Tim’s birth mother and three sisters and, with the help of the Internet and a phone call, she found Eulla Culvert of Madison.
“It was like it was predestined,” Tim said.
His sisters were also ecstatic.
“It’s the greatest thing that’s ever happened to us,” said Marlyn Altobih, Tim’s sister. “We’ve wanted it for a long time.”
Family members gathered in Madison a few weeks ago for a barbecue, the second time they’ve come together since that first phone call in May. Eulla, Marlyn, sisters Rejetta Wade and Selina Al-Natoor, and other family members all visited Tim at his home in Jonesboro in early June.
“We waited for a lifetime to meet him, and it’s a miracle come true,” Selina said. “We’re glad he’s a part of our life, and we’re never going to let go.”
The three sisters had known about their adopted brother all their lives, and Tim had known since was 4 that he had been adopted and had at least one sister, Rejetta.
“Now, we have a new mother, a new sister-in-law and new nieces and nephews,” Selina said.
Dean said her son had been a gift to her because she was the only one of 15 siblings in her family who could not have children of her own.
