Man Rescues 2 From Burning Mobile Home

Nicholas Tafoya was passing through a Lubbock neighborhood Wednesday afternoon when he said he saw smoke coming from a residence.
After entering the home, he found two people inside.
The only way out was to break through a door.
He pulled a man and a woman to safety.
Family members said they were very grateful to Tafoya, but he said he was just acting on instinct.
“Just a couple more seconds … and they would have been covered with flames,” Tafoya said. “It is pretty scary, especially when you have flames in front of your face, knowing there is no way out where you just came in.”

The American Red Cross is working with the families displaced by the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
