Alert mom rescues son with CPR

A 3-year-old boy who nearly drowned in the family pool Wednesday was revived by his quick-thinking mother before paramedics arrived, police said Thursday.

The boy was playing with his brother in his family’s backyard in the first block of Stockbridge Avenue when he fell into the pool, said Atherton police Sgt. Steve Snider.

His mother found the boy at the bottom of the pool about 4:45 p.m. and immediately performed CPR.

He was then transported to Stanford University Hospital, where he was released later that day.

Snider said the boy was upset but unhurt.
