Student receives volunteer award

Minnetonka resident Lauren Bolden, a student at the International School of Minnesota in Eden Prairie, was named a distinguished finalist for the 2005 Prudential Spirit of Community Award.
Bolden was honored with a bronze medallion during a celebration June 9 to honor her community service.
Bolden created a mentoring program that matches families with low-income Hispanic families in need of assistance. Through Bolden’s help many children improved their grades.
Only a select number of distinguished finalists were selected from organizations like the Girl Scouts, Red Cross chapters, YMCAs, Camp Fire and other volunteer opportunities.
