Boy abducted by father returned to mother

A 6-year-old boy abducted by his father last year was found by FBI officials in Los Angeles and returned to his mother Thursday.
Local officials issued an amber alert last year after Shawn Shrewsbury was abducted at the South Padre Island Golf Club by his father, John “Asia” Shewsbury, who was estranged from his mother. Shawn’s grandfather was attacked during the abduction.
FBI officials notified mother Kenya Shrewsbury on Tuesday that they had found her son and arrested John Shrewsbury.
“I’m very, very happy to have found him, and that he came home,” Kenya Shrewsbury told Rio Grande Valley television station KRGV.
When asked how he was doing Thursday, Shawn Shrewsbury said, “I’m going to the house; I’m doin’ good.”
