Council, mayor honor volunteer couple

Published: May 25, 2005

Norman and Beth Hill received a certificate of appreciation from Pocatello Mayor Roger Chase and the City Council during the May 19 meeting of the council.

The Hills are retired individuals who are both dedicated volunteers on behalf of the Pocatello community.

“Norm and Beth do a tremendous amount of public service, and we owe them a great deal of thanks for their involvement,” said City Council President Harry Neuhardt. “The funny thing is, though, they live outside the city limits.”

Norman and Beth are members of the Pocatello Rotary Club, Pocatello Chiefs, Valley Pride, the Greater Pocatello Chamber of Commerce, and the Pocatello Frontier Rodeo Association just to name a few organizations.

The Certificate of Appreciation Program is part of the city of Pocatello’s goals and objectives as established by the Mayor and City Council. Once a month, an individual or group that has contributed to making Pocatello a better place to live and do business will be recognized. Public nominations are not accepted, as these awards are selected by the Mayor and City Council according to what they see and hear in the community.
