Girl rescued from harassing employer

Mysore Police on Saturday rescued a child from her employer and sent her to remand home.

This followed a joint operation by the police and activists of Oodanadi Seva Samsthe.

The employer, Shivamurthy, who works in the government horticultural department in Gundulpet in Chamarajnagar district, has been arrested and produced before a court. He was later released on bail.

DCP (L&O) T.R. Suresh said the NGO had received an anonymous letter stating that a 12-yearold girl was employed by Shivamurthy who was harassing her.They approached the police seeking help to rescue the child.

The accused told the police that the child was looking after an ailing relative and was being taken good care of.
