Girls and their mom rescued from smoke-filled home

Published: May 11, 2005

Cy-Fair volunteer firefighters rescued a woman and her two young daughters from their smoldering home in northwest Harris County overnight.

The fire at the home on Terrebone near Bateau was reported about 1 a.m., but firefighters said it had probably smoldered for some time, filling the home with thick smoke.

Firefighters found the woman and two girls unconscious inside and pulled them to safety. They are being treated at Cy-Fair Medical Center for smoke inhalation and are expected to recover.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
