Man rescued after falling through ice

Published: March 16, 2005

A man on an A-T-V was rescued last night after breaking through the ice on Lake Winnebago.

Three A-T-V drivers went out on the ice near the mouth of the Fox River, two of them stopped when the ice became weak — but the third driver broke through.

The Oshkosh Fire Department used its airboat to reach the man. He was pulled to safety about a half hour after the call came in.
