Visions of hope a sight for sore eyes

Published: March 13, 2005

A display of award-winning photographs of a charity’s work in Bangladesh is to go on show this week as part of Scotland on Sunday’s continuing support of Sight Savers International.

Visions of Hope, featuring the work of Scotsman Publications photographer Ian Rutherford, depicts the charity’s transforming efforts in restoring sight, preventing blindness and helping those who will never see.

Mary Baillie, national manager for the charity in Scotland, said: “We are really grateful to Ian for his time and dedication to our charity and his pictures are truly inspiring.

“The exhibition is a fantastic platform to extend awareness of our charity in Scotland and to highlight the impact of our work on people’s lives.

“The images on show are a thought-provoking reminder of the wonderful gift of sight - our most treasured sense.”
