Clothes, furniture, hay donated for fire victims

Published: January 13, 2005

Ten thousand dollars worth of goods have been donated to an appeal for the Eyre Peninsula bushfire victims.

A steady stream of people are lining up with clothes, furniture, electrical goods and bedding to donate to the appeal which is being run by an Adelaide commercial radio station.

One farmer has even donated a truckload of hay for livestock.

Radio station manager Brenton Cole says the station has been inundated with calls from locals wanting to help out.

“People were wanting to donate things and they didn’t have anywhere to drop it off, so we thought we’d provide this initiative,” he said.

“We’re going to do it as long as we can, as long as people are still bringing things down,” Mr Cole said.
