Missing Baby Returned To Parents After Truck Theft

Thief Steals Truck With Baby Still Inside; Child, Vehicle Recovered.
An Oklahoma City couple were reunited with their baby Sunday evening after the child was taken on a joyride with a stranger.
The parents, whose names were not immediately released, called police shortly after 4 p.m. Sunday to report that their truck was stolen from their driveway on Southwest 42nd Street. Their 18-month-old child was inside the vehicle at the time of the theft.
Neighbor Jeremy Fortune said that just minutes later, a man called police and told them that the baby had been dropped off at his house on Southwest 39th Street.
“They dropped it off in the back yard over here,” Fortune said. “The man had been out there in his back yard and went back out there and notices the child out there, and he called 911.”
Investigators found the stolen truck a short time later on Southwest 29th Street.
Police were still searching for the truck thief on Monday morning.
