Rescued cat reclaimed by owners
Published: October 19, 2004
The cat that Wichita police rescued Thursday from the busy Kellogg flyover was claimed today by its owners.
The Wichita couple that own the black-and-white male cat picked it up about 2 p.m. at the city of Wichita’s animal shelter.
The cat had been there since its rescue Thursday when motorists spotted the cat on the east-bound Kellogg flyover near downtown and called animal control. Because of the busy traffic, animal control asked police to help save the cat.
With the help of officers in a police helicopter, a police officer and an animal control officer were able to save the cat.
