Sleepwalking Girl Rescued After 24-Foot Fall

Published: October 12, 2004

Fall from a second-story window while sleeping. Survive virtually unharmed. Another everyday miracle.

Police and firefighters in Bergenfield rescued a girl with a history of sleepwalking after she fell from a second-story window.

The 16-year-old became wedged in a two-foot space between two buildings for two hours Monday.

Firefighters used a ladder to reach the girl and they strapped her in a harness to remove her.

Police say the girl’s parents told them she regularly walks in her sleep and that’s how they believe she fell.

The girl suffered minor injuries.
