60 y.o. Woman Jumps on Crocodile to Stop Attack
Published: October 11, 2004
An incident on the shores of Bathurst Bay, 186 miles north of Cairns in Queensland state (Australia) once again confirms that, yes indeed, senior citizens today aren’t the bland grey clothes wearing people we knew in our childhood.
A 34 y.o. man, sleeping in a tent with his wife and child, was awoken unpleasantly when a crocodile crawled into the tent and dragged him out. This naturally caused some commotion which in turn awoke and alerted a 60 y.o woman sleeping in a nearby tent.
She surveyed the situation and then did what we hope all of us would do; she jumped on the 12.6 foot crocodile…
Sensing an alternative meal with the satisfactionary taste of revenge the crocodile let go of the man only to turn on the 60 y.o. woman. It managed to drag her quite a distance to the sea when another person shot it dead.
Government wildlife officials noticed the rescue beacons set off by the campers and came along to treat the minor injuries the woman and man had suffered: broken limbs, cuts and bruises.
As all parents know; survive an adolescent and everything after is much less daunting.
