Hats of Hope help in fight against breast cancer

Published: October 10, 2004

Shelly Cagle is a cancer survivor. She has been in remission for three years and her son will wear a navy-colored visor to honor and support her resilience and spirit.

Many people have been touched by cancer, either personally or through a friend or relative.

The Inland Empire Komen Foundation, with the support of Paradise Chevrolet Cadillac and Community Little Book, is offering “Hats of Hope.” These unique visors help to honor a survivor or remember someone who has passed by displaying their picture.

The visors are on sale for $20 at Paradise Chevrolet Cadillac, Community Little Book, and the Inland Empire Komen Foundation office in Murrieta.

Friday, October 15, through Sunday, October 17, the visors will also be available at the Kids for Komen booth near the Paradise Chevrolet Cadillac Kid’s Play Land in the Promenade Mall in Temecula.

All proceeds from the visors will benefit the Inland Empire Komen Foundation.

“I will wear a photo of my mother on my visor to remember her strength,” said Lori Stone-Rubin, executive director of the Inland Empire Komen Foundation.
