AK Steel Makes $25,000 Contribution To Flood Relief

AK Steel said today that it has made a $25,000 contribution to the American Red Cross to assist in flood relief efforts in Butler County, Pennsylvania. Portions of Butler County sustained heavy damage on September 17, 2004 by flooding from remnants of Hurricane Ivan. According to the Red Cross, more than 600 residences were damaged.

AK Steel has a major specialty steelmaking plant in Butler County, located in western Pennsylvania, approximately 35 miles north of Pittsburgh.

“We are saddened by the tremendous property damage and personal suffering that many of our neighbors in Butler County have encountered as a result of the flooding on September 17.
One way to help is by supporting the efforts of the American Red Cross, a United Way agency, which is providing much needed relief to those in need in the community.”
