NFL to donate $1 million for hurricane relief

The National Football League will donate $1 million to the United Way Disaster Relief Fund to assist victims of the unprecedented recent hurricane activity in the state of Florida, Commissioner Paul Tagliabue announced.

The NFL and United Way have a 31-year partnership in serving communities nationwide.

The NFL has three teams based in the state of Florida and will play Super Bowl XXXIX on Feb. 6 in Jacksonville, Fla.
