How much money has the agency spent on hurricane relief in Florida?
Before Hurricane Ivan, the agency anticipated it would spend $63million for efforts geared to hurricanes Charley and Frances. That figure will now grow.

How much money has been raised?
$54.22 million

How many volunteers are working on hurricane relief in Florida?
More than 17,000

How many people have been sheltered?
More than 340,000 people in more than 1,250 shelters

How many meals have been served?
More than 6.5 million meals and snacks. In the days ahead, another 2.5 million will be served.

How much money has the agency spent on hurricane relief in Florida?
The agency estimates $40million to provide long-term assistance.

How much money has been raised?
$10 million from individual and corporate donations

How many volunteers are working on hurricane relief in Florida?
400 to 450 on average. Fewer are working now because efforts are concentrated in fewer counties after Ivan.

How many meals have been served?
2.5 million meals during three hurricanes.

Florida Hurricane Relief Fund

Gov. Jeb Bush established the Florida Hurricane Relief Fund to assist communities in rebuilding after hurricanes. This fund will be used for needs unmet by other disaster relief organizations. Communities will decide how their allocations should be spent. Communities most damaged will receive the greatest percentage of money from these funds.

How much money has been raised?
$12 million

Has any money been distributed so far?
Checks on Sept. 15 of $100,000 each went to to the Charlotte (County) Local Education Foundation and Family Health Centers of Southwest Florida, Inc. The money will be used to purchase school supplies and assist in the rebuilding health centers.
