Catiebug For a Cure Kids Fun Run
Published: September 26, 2004
Children of all ages gathered in Clifton Park Sunday to participate in the fifth annual Caitebug For A Cure Kids Fun Run, put on by the Catie Hoch Foundation.
The 5k race and two-mile walk benefits children living with cancer. Sunday’s run was in honor of Shenendehowa fifth grader Lucas Romano, who is battling lymphoma. Organizers said the turnout of Sunday’s race was better than they imagined.
Gina Peca, organizer, said, “We are well over $20,000 and that doesn’t include what we took in today. The sponsors have been great and the turn out was fabulous. We probably have close to 500 people participating today.”
Catie Hoch battled cancer from the ages of seven to nine. She died in 1999.
