Four rescued off Freeport

The Coast Guard today rescued four people from the Gulf of Mexico after their pleasure boat sank.

The four were found unharmed about eight miles southeast of Freeport.

The Coast Guard last night received word from a supply ship about a distress call from an unknown vesselCoast Guard crews in a boat and in a helicopter located the four people in the water. All were wearing life jackets.

Rescued early today were Ted Fuchs from Cypress, and Brian King, Andrew Kyle and Tanya Kyle, all from Houston.

No word yet on what caused their boat to go down.
