A THIEF stole a luxury sportscar from North Middlesex Hospital car park and drove off with a five-week-old baby girl in the back.
The baby’s father left his child in the blue BMW convertible at around 9.30am on Monday while he walked to the pay and display machine after dropping his wife at the hospital’s Accident and Emergency department.
But within moments a man wearing a dark hooded top jumped into the vehicle and drove away with the baby strapped to the back seat.
A massive operation was mounted and the car was discovered less than a mile away crashed in Dysons Road, Edmonton.
It appears the thief took the baby to Tottenham Police Station and handed himself in. The baby was unharmed and reunited with her frantic parents.
