Christmas CD will aid charity

Published: September 6, 2003

AN Ulster musician is to raise much-needed funds for the Parkinson’s Disease Society with a Christmas CD.

The piano music CD entitled ‘Christmas Blessings’ has been produced by Bangor woman Nicola Curry, whose father has suffered from Parkinson’s Disease.

Ms Curry began piano lessons at the age of 10, which led to a career in music - five years of them as a student of the late Bertram Jones.

Aged 21, she moved to America for a degree in piano performance, and it was then her father was diagnosed with the disease.

Some 3,700 people here have Parkinson’s and 300 cases are diagnosed each year.

To purchase the CD, send a cheque or postal order for £11 to Ms Curry at 6 Ashbury Court, Bangor, BT19 6TJ
