Brother gives sister gift of life

Joanne Arada (31) from Lymm (UK) isn’t new to miracles. When in 1999 she was diagnosed with a kidney problem her prognosis was 6 months. Her kidney would not survive longer than that. Instead, against all odds, she led a normal live for 4 years before starting dialysis. Now she needed a kidney.
Her three brothers were all prepared to donate a kindey. Matches were 50%, 75% … and 100%.
Peter said: “I knew it was going to be me, as we are so alike. As soon as I found out it did not faze me in any way. I am her brother and it is one of those things – you have to help your family.”
Peter is out of hospital now while Joanne remains there to recover further.
Apart from her brother’s invalueable donation Joanne received community wide support in Lymm.
“I want to thank the community in Lymm for getting behind me. There has been so much support in the village. And thank you to the surgeon and his team for everything.”
