Missionary Christian and human rights worker Lady Maria Anna has offered to help repatriate and rehabilitate 25 mentally retarded and sick Indians held in the Lahore Central Jail, Daily Times learned on Monday.
Sources said the Punjab government had decided to allow a review of the cases of these prisoners and provide them with councillor access for confirmation of their national status. If the Indian government agrees, they will be released and handed over to Lady Anna, who will make all the travel arrangements.
